Our By Laws

Membership

Eligibility

• Workers are eligible for membership in the cooperative after a year of active service.
• Consumers are eligible for membership upon network service contract.
• Community members eligible for membership must be sponsored by an existing member. Community members are not eligible for votes.

Shares

• Worker shares cost $100.
• Consumer shares cost $100.
• Community members shares are free.

Termination

• Worker owner’s membership is terminated with employment.
• Consumer owner’s membership is terminated with service contract.
• Community member membership is terminated after 6 months of inactivity.

Member meetings

• All members meet together quarterly.
• Worker members meet monthly

Board of Directors

• President: Ensures consensus is gathered, makes sure concerns are heard.
• Secretary: Makes sure notes are taken.
• Treasurer: Reviews financial documents.

Financials and Profits

• Surplus can be earmarked for capital expenditure projects by a vote of the general membership.
• Any additional funds are redistributed to workers and consumers.
• Should the cooperative disolve, all hardware will be donated to a cooperative.

Administration

• Amendments require 70% majority, though we strive for consensus.
